Rongomai School Enrolment Process

At Rongomai School, ensuring that all new students experience a smooth transition into school, is important. To ensure that this happens, our classroom teachers need time to prepare for the arrival of their new students. This requires teachers to organise the following for your child: sufficient working space and seating, name labels, whanau and culture groups, informing and preparing your child’s new classmates of their arrival and more. For this reason, our start day for all new enrolments is the following Monday or Thursday.  Once you have completed our school enrolment forms and have provided all the required documentation, our office staff will let you know when your child can start school.

All new enrolments will need to report to our office staff between 8 – 8.20am on their first day of starting school. This is to allow our classroom teacher and your child time to become acquainted with each other before the ‘beginning-of-school’ bell rings at 8.45am.

Below is a table showing our school bell times:

8.45am School begins – Whole school assembly under the school canopy
9.00 – 10.55am Learning Block 1
10.55 – 11.25am Morning Tea
11.25am – 1.05pm Learning Block 2
1.05 – 1.45pm Lunch
1.45 – 2.40pm Learning Block 3, Walking Bus leaves at 2.40pm
